Each week will focus on one sport with basketball, soccer, and tball all being featured during the course of the program. Skyhawks will provide all equipment.  Parent participation is required for the 2 yr old class and the first 2 weeks of the 3 yr old class after which most participants will be ready to participate on their own.  Please bring water.

Come join the Sports Zone 101 coaches as we teach the basic skills and movements needed to play baseball. This is a great program to help prepare your child for their upcoming T-Ball season! We will instruct all kids on how to hold the bat correctly, hit the ball off a tee, field a ball, throw a ball, and learn how to become an awesome team mate! We will spend time getting to know each other, learn more about the way our bodies move, and explore new ways to stay active and have fun doing it! We will help develop your child’s sensory and gross motor skills in our exciting Little Big Leaguer program!

In a Slow flow class you will be guided through each asana slowly and mindfully. Even the transitions between the poses become like a graceful dance. This slow, deliberate practice will build a stronger body while filling you with a sense of freedom as you flow your way into a blissful state. You will learn how to deepen your breath and how to use your breath to anchor and ground your body, move energy and bring you to the very centre of the present moment.When you take time and slow down, you tap into your parasympathetic nervous system, your mind slows down, your muscles become supple and your breath deepens. This shifts your inner chemistry into balance and you will experience a state of peace, tranquility and calm.A Slow Flow class will leave you feeling strong, calm, balanced and grounded in your body; peaceful, tranquil and happy in your mind.About the instructor: Jane Lynch is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga for just over 4 years. Her belief is that yoga is a personal journey for each one of us, and it should be  easily accessible to every “Body”.  Jane personally likes the slow flow type yoga where you can integrate your mind- body and breath during these practices.

Kids get to hang at the Rec and socialize while enjoying dinner and a movie, create a craft, play games, or other fun things! Registration is per date and includes pizza (unless otherwise noted), water or juice, and the scheduled activity for the evening. Hike “Up North” with Marlies Henderson. More physically intense than her Billerica winter walks, but if there is a demand, the Recreation Department can meet it: We will drive you to and from the destination, and you hike 4 to 6 miles in the White Mountains. Focus on camaraderie and reaching summits. 50% rain, 50 mph wind and thunder and lightning cancel. Welch-Dickey or Temple Mountain Loop.Included: Reminder, gear advise, transportation, gas, planning & coordination, guide.Not included: Food and beverage.

Join OARS and paddle the historic and scenic Concord River! If you’re interested in river recreation, environmental stewardship and exploring the outdoors, these paddles are for you. OARS, the watershed organization for the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers, will be hosting engaging, educational paddles in Billerica. These paddles are beginner friendly and will be approximately 2 hours long. Everyone is welcome! Begin an athletic journey with Sports & Games Tots! This program offers a variety of sports through fun, age-appropriate activities, enhancing balance, coordination, and fitness. This engaging introduction to multiple sports is packed with learning and teamwork! Each week will focus on one sport with basketball, soccer, and tball all being featured during the course of the program. Skyhawks will provide all equipment.  Parent participation is required for the 2 yr old class and the first 2 weeks of the 3 yr old class after which most participants will be ready to participate on their own.  Please bring water.

Join us for this fun, energetic intro to basketball program! Set to music, Lil’ Basketball teaches children the basics of basketball while reinforcing teamwork, enhancing listening skills and gross motor functions.
 
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM    Little Big Leaguers - Little Big Leaguers
Come join the Sports Zone 101 coaches as we teach the basic skills and movements needed to play baseball. This is a great program to help prepare your child for their upcoming T-Ball season! We will instruct all kids on how to hold the bat correctly, hit the ball off a tee, field a ball, throw a ball, and learn how to become an awesome team mate! We will spend time getting to know each other, learn more about the way our bodies move, and explore new ways to stay active and have fun doing it! We will help develop your child’s sensory and gross motor skills in our exciting Little Big Leaguer program!

Join certified Zumba instructor Arpine Babloyan for an evening of high intensity Zumba! This class will start off at a slower pace and build throughout the program.Instructor Bio:I'm Arpine Babloyan, and I live in Billerica. I've been teaching Zumba for over 6 years, and I absolutely love it. I come from a dance background and was part of a dance group when I was younger. When I started doing Zumba, I found it to be a perfect combination of all the things I loved about dance and fitness. Every class feels like a party, and I love sharing this party with all my students! Progressions for each move allow you to make each class your own with the level of intensity that best suits your needs - start slow and go all the way up as you get more familiar with the routines and moves.Come join me, I guarantee you will have a blast!

Warm up with some of the best pop & dance classics, set to simple routines and using easy moves to get loose on the dancefloor. Although we won’t have a mirror ball, in this mini-series we’ll review all the “party” line dances you’ll need so you can jump in at the next wedding or party! Plus we’ll learn an Irish dance, a barn dance, country, current pop to dance classics; all in the mix! Wear sneakers without too much tread; bring water. Beginners Welcome!

Strength & Stretch: Class focus is on strength, flexibility and balance. Preserve and build strength with full body circuit training. Dumbbells and body weight exercises are used to increase overall strength, including core. Increase flexibility with stretches that emphasis proper body alignment and muscle balance.
