Leisure Adventure Club - Apple Picking, Fall '26
Leisure Adventure Club includes social activities and community outings for older teens and adults. This program is designed specifically to accommodate those with cognitive and developmental impairments. Programs are led by qualified Billerica Recreation staff members. Staff to participant ratio will not exceed 1:6.An intake assessment and conversation with our TR Coordinator is required prior to initial participation.Fall 2026 LAC Programs: Registration will start on 9/2 at 10:00am.Apple Picking at Lookout Farms, $55Sunday 9/13/2026 12:00-3:30pmJoin us as we head to Lookout Farms in Natick for an afternoon of apple picking. The orchard has a beautiful brick path walk underneath grapevines, but does require about 10 minutes of light walking to get out to the orchard. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to stand and walk. Admission includes apple picking, visiting with farm animals, and admission to the corn maze. You are welcome to bring funds for any further purchases. Please note that this program has a rain date of Saturday 9/19/2026.Movie Night at PHR $25Friday 9/25/2026 7:00-9:00pmJoin us under the stars at the Peggy Hannon-Rizza Recreation Complex for an outdoor movie (to be announced closer to the event). Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. We recommend bug spray. Popcorn and drinks will be provided!SCREEEMFEST at Canobie (Night 1), $70Sunday 10/4/2026 1:00-8:45pm This one is a group favorite: an afternoon of chills and thrills at Canobie Lake Park! Please bring your own money for food, drinks, and souvenirs if desired. Register for which date works better for you. Due to the popularity of this event we are offering two trips this year! Canobie does not allow guests to wear costumes, masks, face paint, and costumed make-up. Please wear appropriate swimwear underneath your clothing, bring a towel, and dry clothing for after.Flower Arranging Class at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, $50Sunday 11/15/2026 12:15pm-3:30pmLet’s head to Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston for a floral arranging class led by one of their garden educators. After the class, there will be time to explore the grounds.Thankful Together Dinner at the Rec, $30Monday 11/23/2026 6:00pm-8:00pmBillerica Recreation is so thankful for LAC! Meet at the Recreation Department for a dinner to celebrate friends and fun. Menu will be announced closer to the event. Please notify us of any allergens we should be aware of. Winter Craft & Cocoa at the Rec, $30Tuesday 12/8/2026 6:00pm-7:30pmMeet us at the Rec. to be led through a craft. We will be creating a winter-themed craft, to be announced closer to the event. Hot Cocoa will be provided for all!The new Recreation Center will be opening at some point this Fall! Please pay very close attention to your email before trips to ensure you go to the correct location. *Please note, additional offerings may be added pending interest and availability. If you are interested in a trip but it is full, please register for the wait list. The wait list is how we know if there is enough interest to add additional trips!
