Leisure Adventure Club - Cookout on the Beach, Summer '25
Leisure Adventure Club includes social activities and community outings for older teens and adults. This program is designed specifically to accommodate those with cognitive and developmental impairments. Programs are led by qualified Billerica Recreation staff members. Staff to participant ratio will not exceed 1:6.An intake assessment and conversation with our TR Coordinator is required prior to initial participation.Summer 2025 Outings: Registration will start 3/26 at 10 amCookout on Micozzi Beach, $20Thursday 8/21/25 4:30pm-6:30pm Meet us at Micozzi Beach for an evening cookout with friends! We will play beach games and enjoy the scenery while having a nice meal together.Fall 2025 Outings: Registration will start 8/26 at 10 amApple Picking Adventure, $30Sunday 9/7/24 12:00-4:00pmJoin us as we head to Smolak Farm in North Andover for a fun day of apple picking, hay rides, animal experiences, and a small ice cream. It is highly recommended that you eat lunch prior to this trip, as only ice cream will be provided. Please wear comfortable shoes for walking as this trip requires significant periods of walking and standing. Stone Zoo, $30Sunday 9/14/25 12:00-5:30pmWe’re heading to the Stone Zoo to check out some animals! This trip requires significant periods of walking and standing, so please be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Dinner & A Movie, $45Tuesday 9/23/25, Exact time TBALet’s go to Chunky’s in Manchester for a movie and dinner! Dinner from a limited menu is included in this trip. The movie will be announced the week of the event.SCREEEMFEST at Canobie Lake Park, $55Two Sundays in October - Date and Time TBAThis one is a group favorite: an afternoon of chills and thrills at Canobie Lake Park! Please bring your own money for food, drinks, and souvenirs if desired. Register for which date works better for you. Due to the popularity of this event we are offering two trips this year! Canobie does not allow guests to wear costumes, masks, face paint, and costumed make-up. There is a significant amount of walking and standing on this trip, so please be sure to dress in comfortable shoes.Fall Craft Night at Billerica Rec, $20Wednesday 10/22/25, 7:00-8:30pmJoin us at the Recreation Department Program Space for a craft night with friends. The craft will be fall themed and fun for all!XTreme Craze, $40Friday 11/14/26 5:30-9:30pmXTreme Craze in Woburn is the destination for a fun night out with friends! Pizza and soft drinks will be provided for dinner, as well as arcade credits, and laser tag. You may choose to bring your own money to purchase further arcade credits.Cirque De Soleil…’Twas the Night Before, $70Sunday 12/7/25 1:30-6:30pmWe’re heading to the Wang Theatre in Boston to see Cirque De Soleil perform “Twas the Night Before.” We ask that you eat lunch before this trip as we may not have enough time for concessions in the short admission. *Please note, additional offerings may be added pending interest and availability. If you are interested in a trip but it is full, please register for the wait list. The wait list is how we know if there is enough interest to add additional trips!
